Azmi & Associates Appoints Melinda Marie D’Angelus to the Governance Committee

We are pleased to announce the recent appointment of Melinda Marie D’Angelus, Partner in our Litigation & Arbitration Practice Group, as a member of the Governance Committee (GC).

Melinda began her journey with the Firm in January 2012, and since then has consistently demonstrated sound legal judgement, a deep commitment to client service, and strong leadership qualities. She was made a Partner in 2016, and currently leads a unit within the Litigation & Arbitration Practice Group, specialising in Labour and Employment.

Her practice over the years has been shaped by extensive experience in a wide range of legal matters including civil litigation, industrial relations, administrative law, and constitutional challenges. She has advised and represented both domestic and international clients across different forums, including the Industrial Court, High Court, Court of Appeal, and Federal Court.

Some of her notable assignments include:
• Successfully obtaining and defending injunctions and judicial reviews in complex disputes;
• Representing a major trade union in collective agreement and statutory interpretation matters;
• Representing clients in arbitration proceedings, including acting for a subsidiary of a national housing company in disputes against the Government of Malaysia.

In 2017, her professional achievements were recognised by Asian Legal Business (Asia Edition), which named her among the Top 40 under 40 legal professionals in the region.

With her appointment to the GC, Melinda brings to the table not only her subject-matter expertise and practical insights, but also a deep understanding of the Firm’s culture and values. We are confident that her contribution will enhance the committee’s efforts in shaping policy, guiding strategic decisions, and upholding good governance across the Firm.

Please join us in congratulating Melinda on this well-deserved appointment.
