His extensive background includes a pivotal role as an in-house upstream counsel for PETRONAS and contributions to major national projects, such as the NGPSA gas development project.

Dato’ Azmi’s impressive track record extends to his involvement as a member of the Merger Integration Committee of Synergy Drive Sdn Bhd in 2007, overseeing the largest merger in Malaysian history. His representation of Malaysian companies in cross-border transactions has spanned various countries, showcasing his global expertise.

Noteworthy awards and recognitions received by Dato’ Azmi include The Legal 500 Hall of Fame for Malaysia in Corporate and M&A (2020-2023), Asia Business Law Journal’s A-List of the 100 Top Lawyers in Malaysia (2022 & 2020), AsiaLaw’s Distinguished M&A Practitioner (2023 & 2020), and commendations from The In-House Community (IHC) in 2021, among others.
