Ali Imran graduated from International Islamic University Malaysia with LL.B (Hons) in 2022 and LL.B (Shariah) (Hons) in 2023 from the same university. Up until recently, he had just graduated from International Islamic University Malaysia with a First Class in Master of Science in Islamic Banking and Finance in 2025.

He was previously attached to Messrs Syariful & Wan Zul in Kota Bharu, Kelantan. During his attachment, he was involved in preparation of conveyancing documents such as sale and purchase agreement for property financing, drafting letters as well as conducting legal research on conveyancing and running down matters.

He was actively involved in research and student leadership during both of his undergraduate and postgraduate studies. During his undergraduate studies, he participated in the Kuala Lumpur Bar E-Moot Court Competition in 2020, where he represented IIUM as an oralist.

While pursuing his master’s degree, he served as a Research Assistant under a Ministry of Finance-funded research project, focusing on Islamic social finance and policy research on Malaysia’s ageing population. He was also appointed as a technical reviewer for the 2nd International Conference on Islamic Financial Literacy where he contributed to assessing the quality and originality of academic papers in the field of Islamic finance. He also gained practical research exposure as an Enumerator for a research project funded by Maybank Islamic Berhad, assisting in data collection on zakat distribution and engaging with asnaf communities across Peninsular Malaysia. Additionally, he was also part of student society during his postgraduate study, assuming the role of Head of Sports and Recreation of IIUM Institute of Islamic Banking and Finance (IIiBF) Student Society.
