Shukrul Khair graduated from the University of Malaya with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) (Second Class Upper) in 2022 and was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in May 2023.

He undertook an internship with PETRONAS Gas Berhad (PGB) as a legal intern under Group Legal, where he gained experience in the Legal Gas & Power and Legal Green & New Energy (G&NE) divisions. Shukrul subsequently joined Messrs. Kadir, Andri & Partners, where he completed his pupillage and later served as a Legal Associate in the firm’s Corporate and Real Estate Practice Group.

During his university years, Shukrul was actively involved in student leadership and advocacy. He held senior leadership roles such as General Secretary & Head of Secretariat of the University of Malaya Students’ Union (UMSU) and Speaker of the UM Student Parliament in 2022, in addition to representing the university in national and international debate competitions under Majlis Orator Universiti Malaya (MORUM).

Outside of his legal career, Shukrul serves as Deputy Executive Director & Legal Advisor of SERIKAT Rakyat Malaysia, a youth-driven organisation dedicated to public policy reform and civic empowerment. In this role, he provides legal guidance on SERIKAT’s advocacy initiatives, reviews policy papers and publications for regulatory compliance, and supports strategic planning to advance the organisation’s mission of championing citizens’ rights and youth participation in governance.

He joined Azmi & Associates in October 2025 and is currently part of the Senior Partner’s Office under the supervision of our Senior Partner, Dato’ Azmi Mohd Ali.
